A few weeks ago, my first cousin lost her mother in-law suddenly and a week later I lost my mother In-law suddenly. It’s been just over 3 weeks now and I have been asking myself some serious questions:
Have I been doing the things that really matter? Will I, like Paul say at the end of my time that I finished my race? Or like Jesus, when my time is up, say it is finished? If I were to sit back and watch my life like a movie would I be confident enough to to say I used my gift to its fullest, I lived my life to its fullest? What legacy will I leave behind when I am gone? What will people say about me?
I want people to say of me – ‘she was fearless and brave. She believed in her dreams and helped me unleash mine. She created environments that inspired me to dream, grow, change, stretch… she loved her kids and was a good mother, she loved her husband unconditionally..
In one big summary – ‘She was a person of positive influence’
Just in case you are binding me and rejecting me just because you may think it’s an omen to talk about this things… my apologies… when you are about done, I should like you to settle in, take a deep breath and answer this question –
What do you want people to say about you when you are gone? What legacy will you leave behind?
The graveyard is the richest place on earth, because it’s there that you will find all the hopes and dreams that were never fulfilled, the books that were never written, the songs that were never sung, the inventions that were never shared, the cures that were never discovered, all because someone was too afraid to take that first step, keep with the problem, or determine to carry out their dream – Les Brown.
Don’t add to the number… Do not add to the riches therein. Take stock of your life right now. Take charge of it. It is Yours. You are responsible for your decisions. You do not need permission to live your life. Decide today that you will live your life to the fullest. You will reach your fullest potential. And guess what? God made that possible. He gave us all gifts that will enable us succeed.

- Your gift must be unwrapped. Surely this seem like an obvious point, but is it really? Why then are most people not using their gifts? Have you unwrapped all of yours? If you sit and do nothing with your gift, it will diminish. Your gifts will not come alive except you fan it into flames.
Fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you – Apostle Paul

Just like sugar settles at the bottom of a cup of tea if not stirred, the fullness of your potential will never be realized if you do not discipline yourself, practice or pay attention to your gift and talents – Coach Amina
