Look, I’m not criticizing! We’ve all had those weeks where we’ve had to work crazy hours and stay up late just to meet deadlines or achieve goals. Sometimes it’s necessary — but you can’t push yourself to the max every day!

Think of yourself as a bucket filled with energy-giving water: if you wear yourself out and spring a leak, your energy will flow away even as you try to refill your reserves, leaving you exhausted and demoralized. In trying to do everything, you hold yourself back from accomplishing anything.

    My energy saving technique is to value myself and stop being exploited by those who promise great reward on collaboration, and yet have a zero budget for my skills. I’ve recently resigned from working on other people’s “great ideas” until they have a retainer and can pay for my services.

    I feel this burnout sensation even though i don’t have a regular job. I guess it can also be as a result of emotional and psychological stress. You included significant family and me time in your recommendation to improve our overall well being. So i guess its not farfetched then. Thanks coach. Will make the effort.

      You are right on your assessment. Stress is the key word. In which case burn out can occur from anything stress related.

    This is the first weekend I can say I didn’t do a single work! Pacing myself. Taking it easy now. needed someone else to help me out

    My goodness! you look Awesome!
    Boy did I need this talk! I am experiencing burnout right now. and for some reason been thinking I must keep going and once all I clear I will take a step back or all will be well… once I have less to do.

    After watching this episode, I have cut down my work by 50% and I am spending more time with my family.
