Making It Without Faking It: The 3 Masks to Watch Out For

Let’s put the brave faces aside and get real for a second.

Watch now

Hey there,

Let’s put the brave faces aside and get real for a second.

You have dreams, hopes, and aspirations. You want MORE out of life, but it sometimes feels like you’re never going to get it. You blame yourself; you feel like who you are is never quite enough. Your ideas at work are lackluster, your confidence is shaky, and your dreams are faded and far away. It can seem easier — or even necessary — to push your true self to the back of the closet and fix a perfect mask over your face.

Isn’t that the old saying? Aren’t we supposed to fake it ‘til we make it?

I’m here to tell you NO.

YOU have potential. YOU have drive. YOU have dreams. The only person who can drive you to success is YOU — and no, I’m not talking about the fake, “perfect” persona that you wear like a mask to cover up your insecurities. I’m talking about the flawed, creative, thoughtful, authentic version of you; the one that has the potential to make constructive mistakes and overcome all barriers.

For all their promise of perfection, the masks we wear only stifle our growth and crush our potential. In this episode, I’ll teach you how to take them off — and let the true YOU rise to the surface.

Every A-Lister has a story to share. It would mean the world to me if you would take just a few minutes to tell a little of yours in the comments below. Do you feel like you’re faking your way through your personal or professional life? What are some small actions you can take to peel back your masks and let the true you shine through?

I hope you’ll share. Who knows — your experience might just be what gives another A-Lister the boost they need to be their most authentic self. After you comment, share this article on social media to build our community and draw more creative minds into the conversation!

As a quick reminder, please do not post links to other posts, sites, or videos in the comments section unless they apply to the conversation. They tend to look spammy and stop others from sharing their experiences.

Thank you for weaving your journey with mine. The creativity, thoughtfulness, and positivity of our A-Lister community is a constant inspiration for me, and I hope for you as well!

Let’s keep the conversation going.

Sometimes the only way to get the point across and have it stay in place is to nail it down. ☺️
